I’ve given up on implementing Python classes using C API since I couldn’t get instancing in the C API to work properly. No helpfull error messages, either segfault or “wrong arguments in Objects\classobjects.cpp line 504″, no helpfull documentation, and me to tired to even type gdb. I’m going back to write a simple module and wrap it in classes written in Python.
But that solutions annoy me because it will mean I first write a module, transfering my C++ interfaces to something similar to a C interface (object-oriented non the less in a GTK+ way), and then wrap that module into Python classes miming the original interfaces. I had hope to shorten that path. But apparently failed to do so. Oh well, oh well… There’s another day tomorrow, said Scarlett O’Hara before she logged of.

I finally figured out how to implement classes in Python using C API — the right way. Namely as a new type using the PyTypeObject complete with get and set attribute calls and plain members. But I tought my previous hack for building a class at runtime is still slim enough to share, especially if you just got a couple of methods that you want bundled into a class instead of a module.

Ok. I haven’t posted anything in a (relative) long time. To tell the truth — there isn’t much to report.

Here’s the last one in the series of old digitized video. It’s a one minute short directed by Lars Forssberg, starring Lars Forssberg and Henrik Carlson called Life & Death. As usual in RealVideo since that was the rage in 1998.

The date September 11th has yet again come to haunt us. Five twenty-nine this morning our minister of foreign affairs, Anna Lindh, died of massive internal bleedings after being stabbed by an unknown man in central Stockholm yesterday afternoon.
The same date two years ago, you all know what happend, two planes crashes into WTC and a third in Pentagon.
Twenty-five years ago, the swedish racing legend Ronnie Peterson die caused by a long chain of neglience and incompetence, a long standing Italian tradition.
Thirthy years ago, a military coup headed by Augusto Pinochet, supported by CIA and POTUS Nixon, overthrow and kill Salvador Allende, the democratic elected president of Chile.

I’ve now finaly got back to my main desktop so I can check my email since I’m incapable to do so from the road using my iBook. I was greeted by 500 messages, half of wich I estimate is copies of the Sobi.F worm sent as bounced Mail Delivery notices after someone spoofing my email adress.
I will now closely monitor every incoming email message and send a cease and desist letter to everyone that use Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express if they do not switch mailer and/or OS. Yes, the bogieman is coming after you! Whohahaha!

He died past midnight September 11th, 1978. A dark date that has hounted us for the last thirthy years.
