There’s a report from TT (TV4, DN) that say Björn Wirdheim will try for Jordan in September during the Italian Grand Prix at Monza and there have previously been rumors about a trip to Britain to mold a F1-seat. And Björn aknowledged in an interview that he would celebrate the F3000 World Champion title by molding another seat, “Why?”, he was asked, “Because I need two seats, this one is for another team”.
I don’t think he will eventually race for Jordan since that require him to pay for it, and Björn himself has said that he want to get hired for his talent not the size of his wallet.
But keep in mind that Schumi started his F1-career at Spa driving one race for Jordan and then got hired by Benetton (now Renault) to later become World Champion.
Eje Elgh had a hard time trying express himself putting his words to not reveal anything when commenting the F1 race during the Sunday. But I think he was trying say that Björn will do tests for Jordan but not race, and test for other teams as well. The other teams are then most likely to be BAR-Honda and Williams, but that’s me second guessing.
Mercedes want him to race for them in the German DTM-serie and offered a two year contract. But I don’t think he would be interested in that. Besides it would be a vaste of talent.
