There has been many complaints over the fact that AI science hasn’t made any breakthroughs since the seventies. My guess is that most people function after the stimuli-reaction principle. Exactly like the Alice bot, and that’s why it works.
A computer only has to apear intelligent to pass the Turing test. It’s scarry since it actually tell you more about us humans than the state of AI science. You just have to apear intelligent. We’re quite stupid, aren’t we?
People think I’m a cynical dude with attitude. To tell the truth; there’s enough stuff in the world to disilluse you, what’s left is mocking it.
