A Quick Time for Melies

There are a few newsworthy bits regarding Melies the open-source compositor I’m developing as project leader.

I’m happy to welcome a new developer, Mikael Sundell from Actro Group, onboard the project this early on before any official CVS release. He has offered to develop our support for Quicktime on the Linux platform and write a brand new flipbook that will support both frame stores (frames in individual image files) as well as svq/svq3/DV/jpeg/mjpeg video and use OpenGL framebuffers for display.

Personaly I’m currently away from the Melies project doing some user interface refactoring for K-3D that will make the whole interface using scriptable widgets. When that is done I’m going to work on the two projects in parallel finishing Melies render engine Irend and get the codebase into CVS.
