Meet the Press

I have the last couple of days contemplating around the media, the media frustration and the frustration with the media. I’m still working on that post so in the meanwhile a commentary well worth reading is Centcom Is Not Donahue that express some of what I have been thinking about.

James Ellroy

One of the best authors to penetrate and describe the american psyche is without any doubt James Ellroy. In my opinion the best crime novelist published today. Read the full story

Shows That Kills Me

Femman (swedish SBS owned television channel) has really been pushing their new show Förnimmelser av mord and even tried to do some subliminal marketing during commercial breaks showing a half second bumper for the show between commercials. I wish Killinggängets would do a parody Förnimmelser av tittarsiffror where a phycic goes near a pile of old Kär och galen episodes and start crying “I can’t take it anymore … it hurt to much”.

The show Astronauterna is actually quite good. Finaly a show with no place for sissies or whiners!

And the most clever sitcom produced in this century is with no arguments british Coupling created by Steve Moffet. The second season is currently being aired in sweden.

Bits n’ Pieces

  • Kim Kärnfalk (Friends) was first asked to perform the winning song in Melodifestivalen but declined. Personally I wished for Alcazar to win or at least Jill Johnson.
  • It’s hard to be a liberal. In one country you’r right wing, in other a lefty, but one thing you can be certain of is that it’s a curse word in every language.
  • I have shaved my head, but not totaly bald, even if that was my plan-B if I would end up looking herrendous.

Suffering ISP Stupidity

I have had some diffculties with my connectivity to the internet and thus not been able to post anything the last couple of days. As you can see I have just gained partial connectivity to post this message but not the ability to read or send email. I’m working on restoring my full online precense…

Update: Finaly I got everyting to work and is back in business again. See how long it works this time.

Camp Slaughter

During september and october last year I worked together with one of my best friends and best boy (no pun intended) on a horror flick called Camp Slaughter gaffing for Director/DP Martin Munthe. The movie is still in post-production but the production company Operafilm has posted the first teaser trailer on the production homepage and a shop has been set up where you can pre-order a special edition DVD box. Some stills from the production has been posted in The Filmset gallery.

A little bird has been whispering in my ear that lead actress Annika Marklund had to undergo some kind of throat surgery before finishing looping all her lines. We are all hoping that she will recover quickly. The same bird told me that Operafilm’s next production Code: Typhoon is already in production and is extensively computer generated with actors and actresses agains bluescreen.
